CAPTURE betaOpen Capture

Save anything.
Find it on every device.

Whatever it is, throw it in.
Capture just saves it.

Capture is an app for the things you want to keep for later: a link, a note, a photo of the whiteboard, a PDF. Save it on one device and it’s on all your others a second later.

One day with Capture

Seven things you’d normally screenshot, leave open in a tab, or text to yourself. Saved in Capture instead.

  1. an article to read on the train

  2. an idea, before I forgot it

    Idea

    An app that remembers everything so I don't have to.

  3. my shopping list

    Weekend market

    Figs, sourdough, oat milk, those little pink tulips

  4. the code that finally worked

    func capture(_ item: Item) async {
      let saved = await library.save(item)
      sync.broadcast(saved)
    }
    Swift · 4 lines
  5. a photo from the walk home

  6. the address for dinner

  7. a reminder to call the plumber

Saving

Saving something takes a second.

No title to type, no folder to pick, no form to fill in. Just put it in. Organise it later, or never.

  • Paste. Copy something and paste it anywhere in Capture. On iPhone, Capture notices what you just copied and offers to save it.

  • Drop. Drag anything onto the app, or onto the Capture icon in your Mac’s menu bar. You don’t even have to open it.

  • Share. Tap Share in any app on iPhone, iPad or Mac, then pick Capture.

  • Ask. Tell Siri “Save my clipboard to Capture.” It works in Shortcuts too.

Keeping

It knows what you saved

Capture recognises what you’ve given it. So when you come back you get the real thing, not just a line of text.

Also notes in six colours, code with syntax highlighting, photos uncropped, voice recordings you can play, and PDFs with a preview of the first page.

Devices

Saved on your phone. Already on your laptop.

Capture syncs across iPhone, iPad, Mac and the web, usually within a second. No more emailing or texting things to yourself.

  • Sign in with a QR code. Scan it with your phone and the browser is signed in. No password to type.

  • Works offline. Save without internet. It uploads by itself once you’re back online.

  • Sign out from anywhere. Left your account open on another laptop? Sign it out from your phone.

Finding

Find anything again in seconds.

You don’t need to remember where you saved it. Just search.

  • Search looks through every note, page title, file name, artist and address. On iPhone and Mac, what you’ve saved shows up in Spotlight too.

  • Make folders, put folders inside folders, and give them colours. Or skip all that and just pin and filter.

  • Get a six-character code that works for five minutes. Your friend types it into a browser and sees what you shared. They don’t need an account or the app.

  • PDFs, documents and recordings, up to 50 MB each. PDFs show a preview of their first page.

  • Open Capture in your browser and install it from there. It sits on your home screen, works offline, and shows up in Android’s share menu.
